2017 Announcements

Housing (A place of our Own)

  • 17,000 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats in 2017
  • Shorter of about 2.5 years for some BTO flats
    Starting with about 1,000 units from 2018
  • Enhanced CPF Housing Grant for first-timer families
    Increase from $30,000 to $50,000 (2-to-4 room resale flats)
    Increase from $30,000 to $40,000 (5-room or larger resale flats)
  • Lower Rents For parenthood provisional Housing scheme flats
    Reduced by $200 to $400 per month(depending on flat type and location)

Childcare (Care for baby, peace of mind for Daddy and Mummy)

  • 8,000 infant care places by 2020
    Increase capacity of center-based infant care (children under 18 months)
  • 10,000 new childcare places over the next year
    Childcare places increased by over 40% in the last years
    140,000 places mow available and more childcare places in estates with many young families.
  • More support for home-based care
    Infant care training cause by NTUC’s SEED institute and KKH for domestic helpers employed by families (pilot will 100 places)

Community And Workplace Support (We can manage work and family successfully)

  • Parental Leave
    Additional 4 weeks of unpaid infant care leave for public servants (3-years pilot)
  • More recognition¬†for flexible work arrangements (FWAs)
    New verifiable FWA standards to encourage progressive workplaces
    Employees recognized through the jobs Bank TAFEP website
    Jobseekers can identify these companies as employers of choice
  • More Family-friendly public transport system
    open strollers on public buses from 2 Apr 2017
    Priority queues at all train stations and new bus interchanges by end-2017
    Nursing rooms in new bus interchanges and integrated transport hubs
    Diaper-changing stations along future MRT lines
